What’s on FX tonight? Here is the full FX schedule for Friday, October 30, 2026, with times in Eastern Time (ET).

FX plays the Halloween card the gentle way, and the 7:05pm movie beats the 9:10pm one

FX has spent Friday on the family end of the holiday, and the evening is a double bill in which the first half is the better half. Hocus Pocus (1993) starts at 7:05pm ET/PT (6:05pm Central), and Hocus Pocus 2 follows at 9:10pm, which makes it a pick for the slot but not the best thing FX is showing. The original gets four stars and the sequel three.

That is a judgment on the pairing, not a complaint about the sequel. Both films have the same three leads, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, so the pull is identical, and Hocus Pocus 2 is the longer of the two at 150 minutes against 125. Watching them in order is the right call, and the schedule does it for you. If you only have one evening slot to give, take the 1993 film. If you are catching the second half only, you arrive at 9:10pm ET with an hour of competition to think about: 20/20 on ABC, Fire Country on CBS, and AMC’s showing of the original Halloween all start within minutes.

The afternoon is the part of the day that rewards a closer look. Beetlejuice (1988) is on at 2:30pm ET, a Tim Burton film with Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis and Catherine O’Hara, and it is the best fit for a Halloween afternoon FX has. Four stars. It airs again tomorrow, so it is not a one-chance showing. Haunted Mansion (2023) follows at 4:30pm for 155 minutes, with Rosario Dawson, Tiffany Haddish, LaKeith Stanfield, Owen Wilson and Danny DeVito in the cast. Three stars, and a sensible lead-in to Hocus Pocus if the household wants the day to build.

Mornings are less settled. The Happening (2008), M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller, is on at 7am and again at 11:40pm, the only title FX repeats within the day. I would not rank it among the day’s best, and two stars is a fair reading of a film that is easy to catch once and hard to justify twice. Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021) at 9am is the one scary-leaning option in daylight, a zombie film and the nearest thing to a straight horror pick before dark. Cruella (2021) at 11:30am runs three hours and is a comedy and crime film; three stars.

Overnight gives you Jerry Maguire at 12:21am, 180 minutes of romance and sport, followed by According to Jim at 3:21am. Both are fixtures of the late shelf more than a reason to stay up. After that, paid programming fills the rest of the dead hours until 7am.

The day suits a household that wants costumes and cobwebs, not blood. For anyone who wants more of a scare, look to AMC or Syfy, and the full list of what is on is on the movies on TV this week page.
