MovieWhat’s on Hallmark Channel tonight? Here is the full Hallmark Channel schedule for Tuesday, October 27, 2026, with times in Eastern Time (ET).
The best thing on Hallmark tonight is a 1943 film
Hallmark Channel’s Tuesday is Christmas movies from midnight to midnight, and the one that stands apart from the pile is the last: The More the Merrier at 10pm ET/PT, 9pm Central. It is a 1943 romantic comedy directed by George Stevens, with Jean Arthur, Joel McCrea and Charles Coburn in the cast. Everything else on the channel today is a television movie from the last decade or so. This is the only title with a case for being a real classic, and it ends the night.
The 8pm ET/PT (7pm Central) slot belongs to Miracle in Bethlehem, PA, a 2023 movie and the anchor of the evening at two hours. It is the safe choice. If you want the channel doing what it does, in the hour when most networks put out their biggest shows, this is the one. It faces Dancing with the Stars on ABC, NCIS on CBS and The Real Housewives of New York City on Bravo, so it is courting a different crowd from all of them. Three stars: reliable rather than remarkable.
There is more worth catching earlier if you are home. Christmas Made to Order, a 2018 movie directed by Sam Irvin, runs at 10am ET. Alexa PenaVega and Jonathan Bennett lead the cast, with Jacob Young and Jo Marie Payton alongside, which makes it one of the better-cast daytime slots on the channel. Once Upon a Holiday, from 2015 and directed by James Head, follows at 6pm ET as the lead-in to primetime. Those two are the pair to know about if you work days and want something on while dinner happens.
The shape of the day is simple. Every slot is a two-hour movie, with no series and no filler, so you can drop in at any even hour and catch a start. The one oddity is 4pm ET, where Three Wisest Men is listed without any detail attached.
If you can only watch one thing, make it The More the Merrier. It is up against RJ Decker on ABC and NCIS: Origins on CBS at 10pm ET, neither of which is likely to compete for the same viewer.

Hallmark Channel is two channels, and mid-October is when it switches
The Hallmark Channel we tracked for two weeks changed character halfway through. In the first week it was a sitcom-rerun channel by day and a TV movie channel in the afternoon and evening, with autumn romances and Halloween titles in the film slots. In the middle of October it switched to Christmas films, around the clock, and nothing else: no sitcoms, no dramas, twelve two-hour films a day starting on the even hour.
That switch is the most useful thing to know about Hallmark Channel. Its Christmas season starts well before Thanksgiving, and while it runs, the channel is a Christmas movie service. Outside it, on the evidence of the week before, the sitcoms do much of the work. This page describes both, because a reader landing here in July and one landing in November will find very different schedules.
What its day looks like
Before the switch, a weekday followed a fixed pattern:
- Midnight to 3am ET: The Golden Girls, six episodes back to back.
- 3am to 5am: two episodes of The Waltons.
- 5am to 9am: Reba, eight episodes in a row.
- 9am to 11am: more of The Golden Girls.
- 11am to 2pm: three episodes of Gilmore Girls.
- 2pm to 10pm: four TV movies, at 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm.
- 10pm to midnight: The Golden Girls again.
The Golden Girls aired 76 times on just six days, which says how hard Hallmark leans on it when it is in the schedule. Reba ran 40 times. Weekends dropped the sitcoms after breakfast and ran films from 8am or 10am through the evening, which is why movies took 63% of weekend airtime against 35% on weekdays.
The films in that first week were autumnal: Pumpkin Pie Wars, Sweet Autumn, Harvest Moon, Under the Autumn Moon and Notes of Autumn, plus Halloween titles such as Haul Out the Halloween. The Spirit of Halloween, a 2026 title, that aired three times, twice at 8pm ET.
After the switch, every slot is a film. The schedule runs 12 midnight, 2am, 4am and so on through 10pm, every day, with Christmas titles in all twelve. Over the window that worked out to about 13.5 films a week on average, but in Christmas mode the true rate is twelve a day. Repeats were rare by Hallmark’s own standards: most Christmas films aired once, and the titles that did come back were mostly the new ones.
Primetime is the 8pm ET film, and it is where Hallmark puts its newest titles. In the window that meant 2026 premieres such as Tis the Season for Setups, Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story and Mr. & Mrs. Christmas, each shown more than once, with an older or second film at 10pm.
Popular shows on Hallmark Channel
The Golden Girls is a sitcom that began in 1985 and ran for seven seasons and 180 episodes, starring Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty. In the week before the switch it was Hallmark’s most-aired program by a distance, overnight and late evening.
Reba is a sitcom that began in 2001 and ran for six seasons and 126 episodes, starring Reba McEntire with Christopher Rich, Melissa Peterman and Joanna Garcia. Hallmark runs it in long morning blocks.
Gilmore Girls is a comedy-drama that began in 2000 and ran for seven seasons and 153 episodes, with Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Melissa McCarthy and Keiko Agena. It held the 11am to 2pm block on weekdays before the switch.
Christmas Under Wraps is a 2014 TV movie directed by Peter Sullivan, starring Candace Cameron Bure with Robert Pine and Brian Doyle-Murray. It was one of the few older Christmas titles to air twice in the window.
The Holiday Touchdown films are a run of holiday TV movies named for NFL teams. The Bears and Bills entries were 2026 premieres; an earlier title, A Chiefs Love Story, came out in 2024 with Hunter King and Tyler Hynes, and it aired on the same Saturday as the other two.
How to watch Hallmark Channel
Hallmark Channel is a cable channel, so there is no free over-the-air signal to pick up with an antenna. The live channel is carried by YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, Philo and DirecTV Stream, and by Sling TV through its Lifestyle Extra add-on. Hallmark’s own streaming home is Hallmark+, which offers its programming on demand the day after it airs but has no live feed of the channel. Two older routes have closed: Hallmark’s TV-provider app has shut down, and Hallmark titles are no longer on Peacock.
Channels like Hallmark Channel
- Hallmark Mystery is the closest match, and made the same mid-October switch to Christmas films around the clock, after a first week built on detective reruns.
- Lifetime is the other big home for TV movies, about 14 a week in the window, though its films lean toward thrillers rather than romance.
- Freeform uses the same template of sitcom reruns in the morning and seasonal films the rest of the day.
- TBS is the place for sitcom repeats in volume, with Friends, The Office and The Big Bang Theory every day.
Who it’s for
Hallmark Channel is for viewers who want comfort, in two forms: classic sitcoms they already know by heart, and new TV movies whose appeal is that they arrive on schedule. In Christmas season it is for anyone who wants a festive film on at any hour without hunting for one. It is not a channel for drama, news, sport or anything with an edge, and it does not pretend to be.
When does Hallmark Channel start showing Christmas movies?
In the middle of October. In the window we tracked, the schedule switched from autumn and Halloween films to Christmas films around the clock partway through the month.
What’s on Hallmark Channel most nights?
A TV movie at 8pm ET, usually the newest title of the week, and a second film at 10pm. Outside the Christmas season, The Golden Girls often takes over from 10pm.
How can I watch Hallmark Channel without cable?
Through YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, Philo, DirecTV Stream or Sling TV’s Lifestyle Extra add-on. Hallmark+ has its programs on demand the next day, but not the live channel.
Does Hallmark Channel show sitcoms?
Yes, outside its Christmas season. The Golden Girls, Reba and Gilmore Girls filled most of the morning and overnight hours before the switch.
