What’s on TNT tonight? Here is the full TNT schedule for Tuesday, October 27, 2026, with times in Eastern Time (ET).

TNT spends the night on superheroes, and the day on Middle-earth

Black Adam at 8:15pm ET is the only film worth building an evening around, and it is a modest recommendation. It runs 150 minutes, which is long for a 2022 comic-book movie directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, but it is the best-paced option on a channel that has otherwise handed primetime to two features and a lot of procedural filler. If you want one TNT movie tonight, this is it.

Wonder Woman 1984 follows at 10:45pm ET and I would think twice. At 195 minutes it is the longest thing on the channel all day, and it will run to around 2am ET. Patty Jenkins’s 2020 sequel is a hard sell at that hour, and it starts against The Real Housewives of New York City on Bravo, which will be far easier to dip in and out of. Black Adam is the one to commit to; Wonder Woman is the one to leave running in the background.

The film that deserves your attention is earlier. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King starts at 4pm ET and runs 255 minutes, the longest slot on the schedule. Peter Jackson’s 2003 film is the best movie TNT shows today by a distance, and a daytime start means you can watch it all without losing your night. The Fellowship of the Ring sits at midnight for anyone who wants to start the cycle again, 240 minutes of it.

Around the movies, the channel is running Cold Case across the late morning and afternoon, starting its first season again at 1pm ET with Look Again, then Gleen and Our Boy Is Back. Charmed fills the early hours. Both series are on twice today and show up on several days in the coming week, so nothing here is a one-off.

Skip the filler, take the 4pm movie, then decide whether Black Adam is your evening.

The evening schedule starts with Black Adam at 8:15pm ET.

A movie channel that wakes up as a cop show

TNT runs two schedules on one channel. Before lunch it is a repeat house for crime procedurals; from the evening on it is a blockbuster movie channel with live sport cut in. Across the two weeks we tracked, nearly nine-tenths of TNT’s primetime went to feature films, and not one title aired on most days. That second number matters more than it looks: there is no anchor show, no strand you can set a clock by. TNT is a channel you check, not one you remember.

The films lean big and loud. Monster movies, dinosaur sequels, Tolkien and Harrison Ford account for much of the evening, and the same picture often comes back two or three times inside a fortnight. If you missed a movie on TNT, the odds are decent it returns within days.

What its day looks like

The night ends late and the morning starts with crime. Repeats of FBI were the most-aired title on the channel, 78 airings across eight days, usually stacked in long runs from around 6am ET. Cold Case follows the same pattern later in the morning, typically from 10am, and Charmed fills the small hours from around 5am. These are blocks rather than single episodes: on a day TNT runs FBI, it tends to run a lot of it.

By the afternoon the films have taken over. A typical day carries around seventeen programmes, low for a 24-hour channel, because most of the slots are two- and three-hour movies. Afternoon picks in our window ranged from Blended at 1pm to The Fellowship of the Ring at 4pm and Jaws at 5:15pm.

Primetime, 8 to 11pm ET, is where the channel’s habits are clearest. The Shawshank Redemption turned up at 7:30pm, Jurassic World and its sequels at 8pm, The Martian and The Two Towers at 10pm, and Godzilla vs. Kong settled into a 10:30pm slot it used more than once. Late night carries the overflow: Training Day ran at midnight more than once, and The Fugitive at 11pm.

Sport interrupts all of this. In the autumn window we measured, Saturdays brought a Big 12 college football block (pregame at 11:30am ET, the game at noon, a postgame show around 3:30pm), and some evenings switched to an NHL pregame at 8pm with hockey from 8:30pm. Wrestling (All Elite Wrestling: Collision) and a U.S. women’s soccer friendly also took evening slots. Treat the sport as seasonal. Which leagues appear depends on the time of year, and when a game runs long, the film after it moves.

At weekends the channel tilts harder toward action. Action and adventure made up about 28% of weekday airtime and 65% at weekends, while the procedural blocks largely disappear.

Popular shows on TNT

FBI is the backbone of TNT’s mornings. It is a police and crime drama that began in 2018 and first aired on CBS, starring Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto and Alana de la Garza. It runs to at least nine seasons and more than 150 episodes, which is why TNT can program it in such long stretches without repeating itself every day.

Cold Case is an older police procedural, first aired in 2003 and also from CBS. Kathryn Morris leads a cast that includes Danny Pino, John Finn and Thom Barry, and it ran for seven seasons and 156 episodes. On TNT it occupies the late-morning slot.

Charmed is the outlier in the morning lineup: a supernatural drama with a comedy streak, first aired on The WB in 1998, starring Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano and Shannen Doherty. Eight seasons and 178 episodes give TNT plenty to fill early mornings with.

Godzilla vs. Kong is the closest thing TNT had to a recurring primetime fixture: four airings in the window, mostly at 10:30pm. The 2021 monster film, directed by Adam Wingard with Alexander Skarsgård and Rebecca Hall, trades that late slot with its 2024 follow-up, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

The Lord of the Rings films, directed by Peter Jackson, appear as weekend afternoon and evening events. The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) and The Two Towers (2002) both aired twice, with Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen and Viggo Mortensen among the cast.

The Shawshank Redemption, Frank Darabont’s 1994 prison drama with Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, aired four times in the window, usually around 7:30pm.

How to watch TNT

TNT is a cable channel, so it is not free over the air with an antenna. Without cable, it is carried by most of the major live TV streaming services. Its live sports also stream on HBO Max on some plans, and the channel has its own app, Watch TNT. Check what a given plan includes before relying on it for a particular game.

Channels like TNT

  • TBS shares a surprising number of TNT’s films, including Air Force One, The Fugitive and the Godzilla pictures, plus wrestling and autumn baseball, though its days belong to sitcoms.
  • FX is even more film-heavy, with movies filling around nine-tenths of its airtime.
  • Paramount Network gives its entire primetime to films, much as TNT does most evenings.
  • USA Network is the better bet for the procedural side, with crime drama running through its days and evenings.
  • ION is built almost entirely on crime and action repeats, if the FBI mornings are what you came for.

Who it’s for

TNT suits someone who wants a big film at 8pm without paying for a movie channel, and doesn’t mind seeing the same few dozen titles cycle round. It suits procedural fans in the morning. It is not a place for new scripted drama: nothing in the window looked like a first-run series, and the schedule is too irregular for anyone who likes to tune in to the same show at the same time every day.

What’s on TNT most nights?

Usually a feature film, often a large-scale action or monster movie, from around 8pm ET. On some nights live sport such as hockey, college football or wrestling replaces it.

Does TNT show the same movies a lot?

Yes. Many films aired two to four times in the two weeks we tracked, including Godzilla vs. Kong, Training Day and The Shawshank Redemption.

How can I watch TNT without cable?

Through a live TV streaming service that carries it, or the Watch TNT app. Its live sports also stream on HBO Max.

What time does primetime start on TNT?

Primetime runs from 8pm to 11pm ET, though TNT’s films often start at 7:30pm or straddle the hour, and a game running long will push everything back.
