EntertainmentWhat’s on FOX tonight? Here is the full FOX schedule for Tuesday, October 27, 2026, with times in Eastern Time (ET).
Fox is all baseball tonight, and everything else on the channel is local
Fox has one job on Tuesday and it is the 2026 World Series. The game is on at 8pm ET (5pm PT), blocked for three hours, and it is the only network programming in Fox’s primetime. The channel has no 9pm show and no 10pm show to fall back on, so the game carries the whole evening, and a long one can run past 11pm ET if the innings stretch out. That makes this the simplest page on the site: if you are on Fox tonight, you are here for baseball, and nothing else is competing for your attention.
It is also the strongest live event on broadcast television tonight, which is why it gets five stars and the pick. A World Series game is a nationwide, one-moment event, and the schedule behaves accordingly: ABC has Dancing with the Stars, CBS has NCIS, and neither can offer the stakes of a game in the championship series. Our verdict is easy to defend. If you care about baseball at all, this is the night’s appointment viewing.
The lead-in matters. MLB on FOX Pregame starts at 7pm ET (4pm PT) and runs an hour, so there is a full hour before the first pitch to settle in. We give it three stars. A pregame show is only as good as your appetite for talk before a game, but an hour is a reasonable length and it sits in a slot that would otherwise be local programming. If you only care about the game, arrive for 8pm ET and miss nothing you will remember.
Both the pregame and the series itself turn up on seven days in the window, which tells you the broadcast is on a schedule of its own rather than a fixed weeknight slot. The dates are 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 30 and 31 October, so tonight is one in a run of games, with gaps on the days in between.
Everything else on the channel is local. Fox lists its overnight, morning, afternoon and early-evening hours as local programs: midnight, 6am, noon and 6pm ET are all handed to your station, as is 11pm ET after the game. What is on in those hours depends on where you live, so check your local station for the detail. There is no network schedule to describe.
That is the reason this is a short page. A normal Fox night would have a string of entertainment shows to compare, and tonight there is one event and a lead-in. The honest report on a night like this is a short one.
The short version: tune in at 8pm ET for the World Series, arrive at 7pm ET if you want the pregame, and expect local programming for everything after 11pm ET.

Two hours a night, and the rest is sport and your local station
FOX programs less of its own day than ABC, NBC or CBS. It has no network morning show, no national evening newscast, no daytime soaps and no late-night host. On a typical weekday the network supplies two hours of primetime, 8pm to 10pm ET, and hands everything else to the local station, which is why a FOX day usually runs to just seven entries across the two weeks we tracked.
What FOX does supply is distinctive. Its weeknight hours are almost entirely game shows and competition reality, its Sundays end with an animation block, and its weekends in the fall are built around college football, the NFL and, in October, baseball’s postseason.
What a day on FOX looks like
On weekdays the network is off the air until 8pm ET. Local stations run their own morning, daytime and early-evening schedules, and at 10pm they take over again for local news. Between those, FOX’s primetime is two hours, with each night given a consistent format:
- Monday: game shows, with titles such as Name That Tune and Celebrity Weakest Link.
- Tuesday: drama. Best Medicine at 8pm and Doc at 9pm.
- Wednesday: The Floor at 8pm and 99 to Beat at 9pm.
- Thursday: Hell’s Kitchen at 8pm and Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test at 9pm.
- Friday: sport, usually college football or baseball.
Across the window, game shows and reality made up close to half of FOX’s categorized airtime, and on weekdays they were nearly all of it.
Saturdays in the fall start with Big Noon Kickoff at 10am, then a college football game at noon, another in the afternoon a third in primetime and sometimes a late game after that.
Sundays have the fullest network schedule. FOX News Sunday is at 10am, FOX NFL Kickoff at 11am and Fox NFL Sunday at noon, followed by NFL games from 1pm. Our NFL games on TV page lists who is playing where. Sunday evening then turns to adult animation from 7pm: Animal Control, Universal Basic Guys, The Simpsons and Grimsburg, in half-hour slots up to 10pm.
October is not typical for FOX. Baseball’s playoffs and the World Series take over primetime on several nights, so a given weeknight may carry a game instead of the regular lineup. That happens every fall; the rest of the year the game-show weeknights run uninterrupted.
Popular shows on FOX
Hell’s Kitchen is a cooking competition with Gordon Ramsay that first aired in 2005 and has run for 24 seasons. It has the 8pm slot on Thursdays.
The Simpsons is the animated sitcom created by Matt Groening, on the air since 1989 and now at 37 seasons. It sits at the center of the Sunday animation block at 8pm.
99 to Beat is a game show hosted by Ken Jeong and Erin Andrews that began in 2025. It follows The Floor on Wednesdays at 9pm.

Universal Basic Guys and Grimsburg are adult animated sitcoms that both began in 2024 and fill the Sunday block around The Simpsons.
How to watch FOX
FOX is free over the air with an antenna through your local station. Episodes stream on Hulu the next day, and FOX One, a paid streaming service, carries FOX live.
Live TV streaming services that carry FOX include YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo and DirecTV Stream, plus Sling TV in select markets. There is no longer a FOX NOW app.
Channels like FOX
- CBS shares FOX’s NFL Sundays and also runs reality competition in primetime, with Survivor and The Amazing Race.
- The CW is the other network with only two hours of primetime and a weekend leaning on sport.
- Food Network is the place for more cooking competition if Hell’s Kitchen is the draw.
- Comedy Central runs Family Guy and South Park for viewers who come for the Sunday animation.
- ABC runs college football on fall Saturdays as well, alongside a much fuller daily schedule.
Who it’s for
FOX is for sports fans first and game-show viewers second. If the football, the baseball playoffs or a Sunday night of animation is what you want, FOX is one of the few places to get it free with an antenna. If you want news, daytime shows or late-night comedy from the network itself, you will not find them here; your local station fills those hours with its own choices.
What time is primetime on FOX?
FOX primetime runs from 8pm to 10pm ET, two hours shorter than ABC, NBC or CBS. Local stations take over at 10pm.
How can I watch FOX without cable?
With an antenna for the free local signal, on a live TV streaming service such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo or DirecTV Stream, or through FOX One. Hulu has episodes the next day.
When is The Simpsons on FOX?
On Sundays at 8pm ET, as part of the animation block that runs from 7pm to 10pm, unless sport has taken over the evening.
Does FOX show NFL games?
Yes. Fall Sundays carry NFL games from 1pm ET, after FOX NFL Kickoff at 11am and Fox NFL Sunday at noon.
