How to watch SNL

Way to watch When Notes
NBC Saturdays, 11:30pm ET (8:30pm PT) Live in every time zone. Free over the air with an antenna, or on cable and live TV services that carry your local NBC station
Peacock live At the same time Streams the live NBC broadcast

Because the show is live coast to coast, the West Coast sees it at 8:30pm, in the evening rather than late at night.

The weeks SNL is off

SNL doesn’t air a new episode every Saturday. It runs in short blocks of usually two to four weeks, with a Saturday or two off in between, and NBC fills the slot with a repeat. A repeat sits in the same 11:30pm listing as a new episode, so the listings alone don’t always say which kind you’re getting. The table above marks each repeat Saturday we know of.

Season 52 began with three new episodes in a row, from September 26 to October 10, then took October 17 and October 24 off. It comes back on Halloween, October 31, for three straight weeks to November 14. NBC hadn’t announced a host after John Mulaney’s November 14 episode by the time of this update.

The season 52 cast

There are 17 cast members this season.

Ashley Padilla and Jane Wickline were promoted from featured to repertory before the season, their third. Colin Jost and Michael Che anchor Weekend Update. Saidah Belo-Osagie and Grace Reiter are the two new featured players. Chloe Fineman left after seven seasons and Martin Herlihy also left the cast, while Bowen Yang had already gone during season 51.

The hosts so far

The season opened with a sports star: Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks hosted the premiere, with Katseye making their debut as musical guest. Dakota Johnson came back for a third time on October 3, the day after her film “Verity” opened, with Turnstile on their first SNL appearance, and Shane Gillis hosted for the third time on October 10, with Rosalía.

The November run brings two notable bookings. Druski, on November 7, is the first host to come to the show as a digital content creator. John Mulaney, on November 14, hosts for the seventh time, with Phoebe Bridgers on her third appearance as musical guest. The Strokes, with Druski, make their fifth appearance.
