What’s on Showtime tonight? Here is the full Showtime schedule for Tuesday, October 27, 2026, with times in Eastern Time (ET).

Showtime runs two swords-and-sandals films back to back

Showtime has built its primetime as a double bill: 300 at 8pm ET, then Troy at 10pm ET. It is a coherent pairing, a pair of ancient-world war films, and it is the whole case for staying in on a Tuesday. 300 is the 2007 Zack Snyder film with Gerard Butler and Dominic West, and at two hours it ends exactly when Troy begins. Troy is the longer of the two at 165 minutes, so the night will run past 12:45am ET for anyone who sees it through.

Neither is a bad choice, though neither is a night’s best work. The competition at eight is Dancing with the Stars, NCIS and a stack of reality series, so 300 is the pick for viewers who want a film, not a format. Troy at ten faces less: the broadcast networks are into their late drama hour, and Showtime’s film has the field mostly to itself.

The better film of the day arrives much earlier. True Grit, the 2010 Western directed by Ethan and Joel Coen with Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin, is on at 7:30am ET. It is a morning slot, and the one worth recording.

The rest of the day is a stream of films: Kiss the Girls and Patriot Games overnight, Hotel Transylvania 2 and Scary Movie 5 in the morning, and Noah at 5:40pm ET before the double bill. It is a movie channel doing what its schedule promises.

Frequently asked questions

What time does Showtime’s evening start?

The evening schedule starts with 300 at 8pm ET.

Wall-to-wall films, and almost nothing else

Showtime is a film channel. In the two weeks we tracked, movies took 99% of its airtime and 92% of primetime, and it showed about 30 films a week, among the highest film counts of any channel we cover. Its only regular series in the window, MobLand, accounted for the rest.

What it lacks is repetition of the grinding kind. Nothing aired on most days, only a third of airtime went to titles that came back on three or more days, and no film was shown more than four times. With only about 12 programmes on a typical day, almost every one of them a feature, Showtime is hard to predict and rarely repetitive.

How a Showtime day runs

There is no daytime strand and no fixed slot. Films run back to back around the clock, each starting when the last one ends, so the schedule lands at times like 5:05am, 10:55am, 1:05pm and 3:55pm. A typical day holds about a dozen of them.

The overnight hours lean toward horror: Piranha 3D (2010) usually started around 1:30am and The Ring (2002) around 4:35am. Daytime is the broadest mix, from The Intern (2015) in the morning to Troy (2004) and Dunkirk (2017) in the afternoon.

Primetime, 8pm to 11pm ET, is where Showtime keeps its stronger titles, and here it does run something like a grid. An 8pm film is the most common pattern, from Argo (2012) to Horrible Bosses (2011), When Harry Met Sally… (1989) and V for Vendetta (2005), often followed by a second film at around 9:30pm to 10pm and a third late in the evening. On the nights it aired, MobLand took 9pm.

Popular shows and films on Showtime

MobLand is a crime drama series from 2025, with Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, with Guy Ritchie among its directors, and it has run for two seasons. It was the only series to reach Showtime’s primetime in the window, at 9pm.

Argo (2012) was one of the channel’s most-aired films, four times in two weeks, usually at 8pm.

The Bodyguard (1992), directed by Mick Jackson with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, also aired four times, usually in the late morning.

Grizzly Night (2026) is a survival thriller with Brec Bassinger, Jack Griffo and Charles Esten. It aired three times, mostly at 10pm.

Apocalypse Now Redux (2001), the extended version of Francis Ford Coppola’s war film with Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando, ran three times, usually around 5:45pm.

Horrible Bosses (2011), Seth Gordon’s comedy with Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis, aired three times, once at 8pm, and Horrible Bosses 2 (2014) took a 9:45pm slot.

Parasite (2019), Bong Joon-ho’s black comedy thriller, took a late primetime slot at 10:45pm.

The film mix

Showtime’s library leans on 1990s to 2010s studio films. Franchises appear, but in small doses: both Jack Reacher films, Rush Hour 2 (2001), Horrible Bosses and Horrible Bosses 2. Spy and action thrillers fill many of the late slots, such as Patriot Games (1992) and The November Man (2014) with Pierce Brosnan, both at 10pm or just after. Romantic comedies, Adam Sandler titles such as The Wedding Singer (1998) and Just Go with It (2011), and war epics such as 300 and Dunkirk make up much of the rest.

The window fell before Halloween, and the late-night slots carried a heavier share of horror than usual, including The Ring and Piranha 3D. That share should shrink after October. The film-only shape will not.

How to watch Showtime

Showtime is a premium channel and needs a subscription; it is not free over the air. It is now branded Paramount+ with Showtime. Its programmes stream on Paramount+ Premium, on demand and as live East and West feeds. Among live TV streaming services, it is an add-on on YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV and Fubo, and it is also available on DirecTV Stream. The old standalone Showtime app closed in 2024.

Channels like Showtime

  • HBO is the other premium film channel: about 70% movies, with more of its own series and talk shows mixed in.
  • TCM is the other channel that almost never repeats a film, though its library reaches much further back.
  • AMC and FX give about nine-tenths of their airtime to films.
  • Paramount Network shows the same kind of studio films in the evening, including both Jack Reacher titles.

Who it’s for

Showtime is for subscribers who want a film on at almost any hour and are happy to let the channel choose. It is a good bet for a familiar 1990s or 2000s studio picture at 8pm, and a poor one for series: in the window we tracked there was one. If you want to plan around a specific show, the streaming service is the better way to use the subscription.

What’s on Showtime most nights?

A film at 8pm ET is the usual pattern, followed by one or two more through the evening. MobLand took 9pm on the nights it aired.

Does Showtime show anything besides movies?

Very little. Films took 99% of the airtime we measured, about 30 a week.

How can I watch Showtime without cable?

Through Paramount+ Premium, which streams it on demand and live, or as an add-on on YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV or Fubo. DirecTV Stream also carries it.

Is Showtime the same as Paramount+ with Showtime?

Yes. The channel is now branded Paramount+ with Showtime.
