What’s on AMC tonight? Here is the full AMC schedule for Saturday, October 31, 2026, with times in Eastern Time (ET).

AMC hands the whole day to one franchise, and the best hour is 7pm

AMC has done the obvious thing on Halloween night and run nothing but Halloween films from the first hour to the last. The one that matters is the 1978 original at 7pm ET/PT (6pm Central), which gets two airings: once as the lead-in to the evening and again at 11pm. If you only tune in once, make it the 7pm showing.

The 9pm slot goes to the 1981 sequel, Halloween II, directed by Rick Rosenthal, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence in the cast. The original ends at 9pm and the follow-up begins straight away, so the pairing is a ready-made double bill. Nobody has to choose. The 9pm hour is also thin on competition for horror fans: CBS has CIA, Bravo has Scary Movie 2, and the rest of the field is food, house-hunting and documentary. Halloween II has the genre to itself unless you count Bravo’s spoof.

Halloween II turns up four times today in all, counting both versions. The 1981 film airs at 6am and again at 9pm. A 2009 film of the same name airs at 1:30am and at noon. Check the year in the table before you commit two hours, because they are not the same movie.

The outlier is Halloween III: Season of the Witch at 2:30pm. It’s a 1982 film directed by Tommy Lee Wallace, and the genre tags put it in science fiction as well as horror. Its cast has no overlap with the other sequels in the schedule. That makes it the one afternoon slot that gives you something different, and a reasonable pick for anyone who has already seen the others too many times. It’s also the one film here that breaks the pattern of the marathon, which is why it earns three stars from me and the others around it don’t.

Further down the order is Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, a 1988 film directed by Dwight H. Little, with Donald Pleasence and Danielle Harris in the cast. It airs at 4am and again at 8am, so a missed first try costs nothing. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, from 1989 and directed by Dominique Othenin-Girard, sits at 10am. Both are for completists, and two stars is generous for a morning slot.

The 2007 Halloween, directed by Rob Zombie with Malcolm McDowell and Scout Taylor-Compton, gets 4:30pm. It’s the reimagining rather than the original, and it’s the only airing of that version today, so it’s the one to catch if you want the contrast with the 1978 film that follows it at 7pm.

The honest summary is that this is a schedule built for leaving on in the background. Pick one block, the 7pm and 9pm pair, and treat the rest as a loop that will still be running when you get back from trick-or-treating.
