TNT’s Wednesday is built around one live block: NHL Pregame at 7pm ET (4pm PT), the game itself at 7:30pm ET (4:30pm PT), and NHL Postgame at 10:30pm ET (7:30pm PT). The superhero pair is filler with a purpose: it keeps the channel’s film identity alive until the sport arrives.

Early morning belongs to Cold Case and Charmed, each of which turns up twice today. Both are in the table below for anyone who wants a marathon, and neither changes the verdict on the evening.

The verdict: a good night if the game appeals, a one-film night if it doesn’t. Hockey is the pick, with Evil Dead Rise as the consolation for the late crowd.
