Hallmark is in full Christmas mode, and tonight’s only 2026 movie is the one to stay up for

Twelve movies, twelve two-hour slots, not a single series episode: Hallmark Channel’s October 28 is a Christmas marathon from midnight to midnight. The one that matters is Tis the Season for Setups at 8pm ET/PT (7pm Central), the only 2026 title in the lineup. Everything else in the day dates from 2024 or earlier, so this is the slot where the channel is actually showing you something it made this year.

It’s also the movie Hallmark is leaning on hardest. It airs four times across the two-week window around tonight, which tells you the channel expects it to work. Repeating a movie that often is a bet on the title, and it means tonight’s showing is easy to skip: if you can’t be on the couch at 8, another showing is never far off.

The competition is lopsided in a useful way. At 8pm, Survivor is on CBS and Scrubs on ABC, with The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City on Bravo. None of those is a Christmas movie, and that is the whole point of Hallmark’s pitch. Anyone who wants a cozy holiday romance at the end of October has exactly one place to go.

Our Holiday Story follows at 10pm ET/PT. It’s a 2024 movie, so it has had time to settle, and it has the late slot to itself apart from a sister-channel rival: Hallmark Mystery runs Where Are You, Christmas? at the same minute. Two Hallmark movies against each other is the channel’s own scheduling quirk, and it means a split audience on the family’s own networks.

Earlier in the day, Christmas Under the Stars at 6pm ET is the lead-in. It airs twice in the window, which is the weakest argument for tuning in specifically. If you want a daytime pick, Christmas Town at 6am and again later in the window is the one with a clear identity: a 2019 drama and romance with a director on record. It’s also a rerun candidate, so don’t set an alarm.

The rest is a conveyor belt. Believe in Christmas, Sealed with a List and Christmas at the Golden Dragon fill the overnight hours, and Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow sits at 2pm ET if you want the afternoon one. That’s a table row, not a recommendation.

Verdict: set the DVR for 8pm, then decide at 10 whether you’ve got another two hours in you.
