Paramount Network has built tonight around a six-hour movie block, and the second film is the one to wait for. Raiders of the Lost Ark starts at 9:30pm ET/PT (8:30pm Central) and runs 150 minutes, so it finishes right at midnight. It is a 1981 Steven Spielberg picture and one of the easier four-star calls on the day.

It follows Forrest Gump, which begins at 6pm ET and runs 210 minutes, the longest slot on the schedule. That one ends exactly as Raiders starts, with no gap, so a viewer who wants both can settle in for the whole evening. Forrest Gump is a 1994 film from Robert Zemeckis, and a solid three stars from us: it is long, but it fills the early evening without effort.

The competition at 9:30pm is mostly sitcom filler. The Office on Comedy Central, Beat Bobby Flay on Food Network and The Big Bang Theory on TBS are all on at the same moment, so Raiders is the most distinctive thing on offer.

Before all that, Bar Rescue carries the entire day from 3am to 6pm, one episode after another. Addams Family Values, from 1993, opens the schedule at 1am and has aired on four of the last ten days. It is a good late-night option for anyone still up.
