IFC has gone all-in on slashers

IFC is running a horror marathon from 6am to midnight, and it has the schedule to prove it: nine films, three of which come on twice. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) airs at 8am and again at 6:30pm ET. Its prequel, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006), airs at 10:15am and 4:30pm. I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) airs at 12:15pm and again at 8:45pm.

That second showing is the pick. It is the primetime anchor at 135 minutes, starting at 8:45pm ET/PT (7:45pm Central), a quarter-hour after the hour. The competition is thin: The Office on Comedy Central and Casper on Freeform. Neither is a slasher, so IFC has the night’s horror audience to itself. We give it three stars, and the fact that the channel already played it at lunchtime tells you how little variety is on the menu.

Variety comes at other points. Jason X, from 2002, opens the film block at 6am, Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh follows at 2:30pm, and the day closes with Whistle, the only 2026 title, at 11pm. IFC isn’t saying much about it, so treat it as a gamble.

Overnight, Tales from the Crypt fills the gap before 6am, nine episodes in a row.
