MovieWhat’s on TCM tonight? Here is the full TCM schedule for Monday, November 2, 2026, with times in Eastern Time (ET).
Ann Rutherford is in six of TCM’s fourteen films on Monday, and King of Jazz is the one to see
TCM has quietly built a day around one actor. Ann Rutherford appears in six of the fourteen films on Monday: Andy Hardy’s Double Life, Four Girls in White, Whistling in the Dark, Whistling in Brooklyn, Keeping Company and Two O’Clock Courage. That is more than a third of the schedule. The cast lists run through the whole day, so a viewer who tunes in at any hour from 7:30am to 7:45pm ET has a decent chance of finding her.
But the pick is further down the page. King of Jazz, a 1930 pre-Code musical color film, starts at 8pm ET and runs 120 minutes. Paul Whiteman leads the cast, with John Boles, Laura La Plante, Jeanette Loff and Bing Crosby alongside him. Two directors are credited, John Murray Anderson and Paul Fejos. A color musical from 1930 is rare on a modern schedule, which is the reason to put it first: it is the one thing on tonight that you are unlikely to see anywhere else. Opposite it are Dancing with the Stars on ABC and FBI on CBS, neither of which offers anything similar.
Hollywood Canteen follows at 10pm ET, a 1944 film directed by Delmer Daves and running 135 minutes. It is a musical and romantic comedy, and the cast includes Bette Davis, Dane Clark, Eddie Cantor, John Garfield and Joan Leslie. It also has the evening’s longest running time, and it ends at 12:15am ET, so it makes sense as a second feature for anyone who stays up. It earns four stars on cast alone.
Earlier, Pride and Prejudice (1940, directed by Robert Z. Leonard) runs from 10:45am ET. Laurence Olivier and Greer Garson lead the cast, with Maureen O’Sullivan, Edna May Oliver and Mary Boland. It is a daytime film in the best sense: two hours that reward the time.
The overnight is worth a look too. Zazie in the Metro (1960) is at 2am ET and Murmur of the Heart (1971) at 3:45am, both directed by Louis Malle. Putting them back to back is a deliberate pairing, and a good one. Of the two, Murmur of the Heart is the stronger recommendation, a coming-of-age drama with Lea Massari and Daniel Gélin. Set the recorder.
The afternoon is lighter. Whistling in the Dark at 12:45pm ET and Whistling in Brooklyn at 2:15pm both star Red Skelton, and both are directed by S. Sylvan Simon, who also directed Four Girls in White and Keeping Company. Mickey Rooney appears in You’re Only Young Once at 6am and Andy Hardy’s Double Life at 7:30am, with Lewis Stone in both.
Both primetime films air at the same local hour across the country: 8pm ET/PT, 7pm Central for King of Jazz.
