What’s on TCM tonight? Here is the full TCM schedule for Sunday, November 1, 2026, with times in Eastern Time (ET).

TCM turns Sunday into a horror marathon, then hands the evening to James Stewart

Turner Classic Movies has built a day with two halves. Until the afternoon it is almost all horror and suspense, with a few comedies slipped in. From 8pm it is two war dramas with the same star, James Stewart, and that pairing is the best reason to stay put.

The pick is Strategic Air Command at 8pm ET/PT (7pm Central), a 1955 film directed by Anthony Mann. Stewart leads, with June Allyson, Jay C. Flippen, Harry Morgan and Barry Sullivan in the cast. It gets a two-hour slot and counts as drama and war. The Mountain Road follows at 10pm, from 1960 and directed by Daniel Mann, with Stewart again alongside Lisa Lu, Glenn Corbett, Harry Morgan and Frank Silvera. Two films, five years apart, one lead. Watch the pair back to back and you get a small, accidental study of how a star ages on screen. The earlier film takes the pick because it opens the night and sets the tone. Against it at 8pm sit Mrs. Doubtfire on ABC, The Simpsons on Fox and Naked and Afraid on Discovery, none of which are in the same business.

The horror half is where the schedule gets interesting, and TCM isn’t shy about repetition. Cat People, the 1942 Jacques Tourneur film with Simone Simon, Kent Smith and Tom Conway, opens the day at midnight and comes back at 10am. The Seventh Victim, from 1943, runs at 1:30am and again at 11:30am, and The Leopard Man, also 1943 and also Tourneur’s, plays at 3am and 1pm. That’s three titles that each air twice in a single day. The two airings of The Seventh Victim aren’t the same length, either: the early slot runs 150 minutes, the morning one 90. Pick whichever hour suits you. For a sleepless Sunday, Cat People at midnight is the easiest five stars on the board.

Night of the Living Dead lands at 4:15am, the 1968 George A. Romero film, listed as horror and science fiction horror. It’s a slot for insomniacs, and it will not make many calendars. Eye of the Devil follows at 6am with Deborah Kerr, David Niven, Donald Pleasence, David Hemmings and Sharon Tate. Then comes the day’s change of mood: Blithe Spirit at 7:45am, David Lean’s 1945 comedy with Rex Harrison, Constance Cummings, Kay Hammond and Margaret Rutherford. Of all the morning slots, it is the one I’d set an alarm for.

The afternoon is steadier. Murder Most Foul at 2:15pm is the 1964 film with Margaret Rutherford, Stringer Davis and Ron Moody, listed as a thriller, mystery and comedy, and based on Mrs McGinty’s Dead. At 4pm comes Gone with the Wind, whose four-hour slot carries it right up to the Stewart evening with Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Leslie Howard and Olivia de Havilland in the cast. Two short items, Bats in the Belfry and Bottles, fill small gaps around 9:30am.

Verdict: if you only have one evening, take the 8pm Stewart pairing. If you have the whole day, start with the midnight horror and build outward.
