What’s on PBS tonight? Here is the full PBS schedule for Sunday, November 1, 2026, with times in Eastern Time (ET).

PBS saves its Sunday for a slow three-hour drama block

Stay on PBS tonight and the evening settles into a single run: a suspense drama at 8pm ET/PT (7pm Central), a detective series at 9pm and The Gold at 10pm. Nothing else on the channel competes with it, which is the point. If you want to watch drama on a Sunday without hopping between networks, this is the one that asks you to commit to the couch and stay put.

Professor T is the reason to start. It’s the 8pm anchor, an hour long, and it arrives as the third episode of its fifth series, titled “Retreat”. A show gets to five series by holding an audience, and that kind of staying power is rare on a night when the broadcast networks are throwing family comedy and reality at the same hour. Across the dial at 8pm you’ll find Mrs. Doubtfire on ABC, The Simpsons on Fox, Naked and Afraid on Discovery and The Real Housewives of Potomac on Bravo. Professor T is the only thing in that lineup that wants your full attention, and for that alone it gets the pick. It’s a British series, originally on ITV.

Maigret at 9pm is a different kind of bet. The series in question ran from 1991 to 2005 on France 2, with Bruno Cremer in the cast, and it has turned up on six days since October 19. That’s a lot of Maigret. It’s a comfort watch rather than an event, and it faces The Gilded Age on HBO and Watch What Happens Live on Bravo at the same hour. If you’ve already seen it, nothing here will change your mind. If you haven’t, it’s an hour of patient detective work that doesn’t hurry.

The Gold takes 10pm, also on six days since October 19, and PBS isn’t saying what it is, so I won’t guess. What I can say is that it holds the late slot against a wall of Family Guy, Naked and Afraid and Late Night Law, and that anything calm is a relief by then.

Before all that, Antiques Roadshow US runs at 7pm with “Vintage First Finds 6”, the 21st episode of its thirtieth season. It’s the easy lead-in, and it’s an hour you can have on while dinner is happening. At 11pm Austin City Limits closes the night with Ty Myers in the 52nd season’s ninth episode, so the evening ends on music instead of another drama.

The rest of the day is a long run of children’s television, from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood at 6am through Wild Kratts, Sesame Street and Donkey Hodie, then documentaries and talk. Nature turns up twice, at 1am and again at 3:30pm with “Tiger Island, Part II”, and Nova does the same with “Evolution: Body Builders” at midnight and 4:30pm. If you missed either, you have two chances.

Verdict: set aside 8pm for Professor T, stay for Maigret if the mood holds, and treat the rest as background.
