Lifetime hands the whole evening to NCIS, and the part worth knowing is the join at the end: the 11:03pm ET episode, “Truth or Consequences”, opens season seven. Everything before it, from 5pm onward, is season six running in order, so the late slot is where a viewer who has been following along crosses into a new season.

Primetime is three episodes back to back: the second half of “Legend” at 8pm, “Semper Fidelis” at 9pm and “Aliyah” at 10:03pm. The 9pm episode is the pick, mostly because it is the longest of the three at 63 minutes and sits at the center of the run. “Legend” is a two-parter, with part one at 7pm, so anyone who tunes in at 8pm has joined it halfway and 7pm is the cleaner way in.

NCIS has run for 24 seasons and 507 episodes, which explains why a channel can fill an entire night with it and still have material to spare. Lifetime also uses it through the morning, with three episodes from 8am.
