HBO has built Halloween around new horror, and the 8:07pm ET slot belongs to Backrooms, a 2026 film directed by Kane Parsons. It is the night’s anchor at 113 minutes, and it will be the first thing most viewers pick.

The case for it is the lineup around it. Backrooms is one of several 2026 releases on the day: The Bride! at 8:49am, Undertone at 10:56am, They Will Kill You at 12:31pm, Mother Mary at 2:08pm and Lee Cronin’s The Mummy at 4:01pm. The Long Walk, from 2025, follows at 6:17pm as the warm-up. Backrooms itself shows up twice in the window, so it can be caught again.

Weapons at 11pm is the second reason to stay up. After Backrooms, two 30-minute To Be Announced slots at 10pm and 10:30pm fill the gap, so check the schedule before relying on them.

Backrooms faces the 2026 World Series on Fox at the same time, which will win a lot of living rooms. For everyone else, HBO’s night makes a clean double bill: Backrooms, then Weapons.
