A&E gives Halloween night to a four-hour locker auction

A&E has cleared its entire primetime for one title: Storage Wars: Scariest Lockers, a four-hour block starting at 8pm ET and running to midnight. It is listed as a 2018 production, which tells you what kind of Halloween this is. Not a new event, but a long, easy commitment for anyone who wants the lights on and the television on at the same time.

The build-up is the better way in. Storage Wars owns the whole afternoon and evening, from 1pm ET through 8pm, one hour at a time, and the 7pm episode is “Hauntington Beach” (S17E10), the only title in the run that winks at the date. Watch it, and you have a good idea whether four more hours is for you. The 6pm episode, “The Return of the Return of San Burrito” (S16E01), is flagged as the opener of its season, though it sits in a run of episodes from seasons 16, 17 and 18, so no order is being observed here. The series has aired 269 episodes across 12 series, and A&E schedules it like a fixture.

The morning belongs to Zombie House Flipping Tampa, which runs hour after hour from 7am to 1pm ET. It also aired on the 24th, so this is a second look at a strand A&E likes, not a debut. The overnight hours are The First 48, four hours of it from just after midnight.

At 8pm ET the rivals are serious: Fox has the 2026 World Series, FX shows Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and CBS has FBI. Hallmark’s channels are already playing Christmas movies. A&E is not going to win the night, and it is not trying to. It is offering a place to settle for the evening without making a decision.

My pick is Scariest Lockers, with a mid rating. The length is the selling point, and also the warning.
