Great Romance has gone fully festive: 17 films in the day, nearly all of them with Christmas in the title. There is no pretending otherwise on this one. If you want romance without tinsel, this is the wrong channel tonight.

The best of it is early. Swept Up by Christmas starts at 18:00 and runs 110 minutes, a 2020 romantic Christmas film with Lindy Booth and Justin Bruening. It gets the longer running time and the slot before primetime, and it is the one film here that does not come cut into two parts.

Those parts are the channel’s habit. Rekindling Christmas is listed as a 55-minute opener at 20:00 and a 60-minute second half at 21:00, with Good News from GREAT! in between, so the film is the evening’s main event and its own advert break. Against Panorama and Casualty 24/7 it is a calm alternative. Christmas Overtime, a 2024 film, does the same at 22:00 and 23:00. It is the newest title on the channel today by some distance, which is its main selling point.

Daytime is a loop. Finding Father Christmas, A Family for the Holidays, Christmas Bells Are Ringing and Snowed in for Christmas each run twice, back to back, between 08:10 and 16:00. Deliver by Christmas, at 16:10, has already aired twice in the past fortnight.

The overnight slots belong to A Very Country Christmas, A Gingerbread Romance and Welcome to Christmas, all three already shown on the channel in the past week or so.
