Quest has built tonight around The Repair Shop, and the reasoning is sound. It is on at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm, then at 8pm, 9pm (as The Repair Shop On The Road), 10pm and 11pm. Eight hours of the same programme in one day. If you like it, this is your channel. If you do not, there is nothing here for you after 7pm.

The 8pm showing is the pick. The Repair Shop is a documentary and reality series, original broadcaster the BBC, with Jay Blades and Will Kirk in the cast, and at 8pm it meets Columbo on 5USA, Blue Planet III on BBC One and a Channel 5 hour on air fryers versus microwaves. It is the quietest of those and the most reliable. It is the show to settle into on a Sunday with the evening already half gone.

Overnight, The Alaska Triangle is on twice, at 1am and 2am, and it has aired on two days in the window. Salvage Hunters fills the breakfast block. Both are fine for background.

Verdict: tune in at eight, stay for the on-the-road hour at nine, and give the rest a miss.
