Full GREAT! Action listings for Sunday 1 November 2026, with times in London local time.

Sunday on Great! Action is a Western day with a Viking and a symbiote at the end

The best thing on Great! Action tonight is a 1958 film, not the newest one on the schedule. The Vikings, with Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh and Ernest Borgnine, starts at 6.30pm and picks up again at 7.31pm after a short break. It is an action adventure directed by Richard Fleischer, and it gives the early evening a spine that most of the channel’s week lacks. Four stars.

Venom follows at 9pm, running on to roughly 11.15pm once the break at 9.56pm is allowed for. Tom Hardy leads, with Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed in support. It is the younger and louder film of the night, and the only one aimed squarely at the viewer who wants a superhero thriller rather than a period piece. Three stars: a fair Sunday-night choice, but it is also the film the channel airs most often. Venom turns up on 27 October, 31 October and again today, so anyone who has been watching Great! Action this week has had their chance.

The daytime is a run of Westerns. Bandolero! at 4.10pm is the longest of them at 140 minutes, with James Stewart, Dean Martin and Raquel Welch. Before it come 40 Guns to Apache Pass at noon and Lawman at 2pm, with Audie Murphy and Burt Lancaster respectively. Treat the afternoon as a block rather than three separate appointments.

After Venom the channel closes with Pistol Whipped at 11.15pm, a Steven Seagal action film from 2008. It also aired on 28 October. Late-night filler, honestly labelled.

The competition is thin at 9pm only if you ignore the rest of the dial. Gogglebox, Gone Fishing and live NFL on 5 all start then, so Venom is the one to pick if you want fiction.
