Full Dave listings for Thursday 29 October 2026, with times in London local time.

Dave runs a four-hour talk-show wall, and the pick is in the middle of it

From 19:40 until midnight Dave plays Would I Lie To You?, QI XL, Have I Got A Bit More News For You? and 8 Out of 10 Cats back to back, with no break for anything else. If you like that sort of evening, it is hard to beat for sheer volume. If you do not, there is nothing here to change your mind.

The pick is Would I Lie To You? at 8.20pm. It has run for 13 series and 110 episodes on BBC One, and Dave shows it twice in a row tonight, at 7.40pm and 8.20pm, which tells you how much faith the channel has in it. It also airs here every day. The 8.20 slot is the better of the two, since it sits against Coronation Street on ITV1 and the earlier one has EastEnders to contend with, so choose by what you are avoiding. Four stars.

QI XL at 9pm is the longest primetime programme, an hour-long extended cut of the QI quiz show, and it is on twice today, with a 2.35am showing earlier in the night. It is solid, and the hour gives it room, but it is up against Gogglebox on E4 and The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked on BBC One, so it needs to earn its place. Three stars.

Earlier, at 7pm, Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing is the quiet one. It began on BBC Two and has run to 5 series and 32 episodes, and it airs on Dave on 11 days in the window, more than almost anything else. Against The One Show it is a gentle way to start. Four stars, and the best choice if you want a calmer evening than the one Dave is otherwise offering.

Have I Got A Bit More News For You? closes the main run at 10pm. It turns up on nine of the ten days in the window, so it is a regular rather than an event. Three stars.
